Somlar Atreyu.... Thank you Jennifer

I purchased my pup from Jennifer back in November of 2008. I did a lot of research on the breed prior to purchasing so I had an ideal what I was in for. I was referred to Jennifer by another ATRA breeder because I was looking specifically for a blue TRD. I have to say that I am very happy with my pup, now named Atreyu. He has been quite the entertainer. Like most puppies he would find his way into trouble and capitalize on it. One thing that I've learned is that he is very smart and probably to smart for his own good. He was very easy to train and get in a routine. Potty training was very easy too. He learned his basic commands such as sit, lay, and so on within a matter of hours. He has a great tempermant and loves it when people come over. He can be a bit shy if he is rushed by children, but if I give him the encouragement and let him know it's ok he warms up to them in a heartbeat. He is a good dog to have in the house because he is always very alert and checks out any noise that he hears. It was very easy to get him to respond to a leash and walks are not a problem. He has become a little celebrity in the neighborhood I walk him in. There are several residents who will pass by in the car to stop and say hi to him as well as stopping me when I pass their house. He loves the attention. I currently own a cat as well. He gets along great with her but sometimes likes to chase her around just to torment her. He has never been aggressive with her. It's always a playful nature. Overall I am very happy with him and how he is growing into his own. I will take more pictures to post when I can. I just want to thank Jennifer for setting me up with a great dog and maintaining contact.

I was very happy to see and read this testimonial this morning here in Thailand. as you all know, Jen Wheeler came here to visit me and to see first hand what STERLING TRD is all about. Because of this meeting i know now I can trust Jen to always find the right people for her TRD like this one.. What a lovely face on this TRD.. You must be so proud of your TRD when you walk down any street and we at ATRA are all proud you are a member and a SOMLAR supporter.
Thanks for your SOMLAR TRD testimonial .. Jen will be around for a long time please everyone stick around and watch this thread grow..

Wow I cannot believe how much he looks like Sitao in that picture! He is growing into quite a handsome boy! I also love that Jack still has that picture of his dad Sitao before he came to me!

Remember I called them ROGER and DOGER.. One went off to live the life of a "city dog" in the BIG APPLE with Sir Brian Dumont.. and you got the other male.. Both were fantastic and I forget who was who.. but both TRD were really nice I remember. And yes, I do see the striking good looks of Atreyu with his daddy..Sitao (which translate into the color of grey in the Thai language. What does Atreyu mean.. Is it Thai??

Well since a TRD is a unique type of breed and given their traits I wanted a name that would fit him. The name Atreyu is from an old novel called The Neverending Story. I loved it as a kid. Atreyu's character in the story is the hunter/warrior as well as the hero. I figured given the nature of a TRD as a protector and hunter that it would fit him perfectly. He carries it well and most people say that it's a very strong name and fits him well. It definitely fits him.
